Creative juices are flowing at CCP! Students attended a directed art workshop last Saturday, where they made a collection of “Blue Dog” paintings for our upcoming CCP Fundraiser and Silent Auction. Their work became a bright patchwork of similar but different critter images, painted on wood. On Thursday, students created original portraits with the help of art instructor Peggy Forman. Working alongside SJSU and other adult mentors, they learned to create a rainbow palette from the three primary colors and then mixed their own colors in order to paint portraits of their choice. Please come and see this work at the upcoming CCP Benefit Art Show and Auction on November 16, 2013. To learn more, please follow this link and mark your calendar!

In the meantime, K-2 students enjoyed creating with watercolors as they continued working on their “This Is Me” portrait projects. Completed in stages, children will frame photos of themselves with their own layered, originally designed frames. The frames will include words they’ve chosen to describe the ways they see themselves.
